Cristina Scuderi - Co-organization of the "Hariclea Darclée" conference

The International Symposium "Hariclea Darclée (1860-1939) and Puccini Performers in Eastern Europe" will take place from June 14-15, 2024 at the National University of Music Bucharest. The conference was co-organized by PD Dr. Cristina.

Darclée, Hariclea, real name Hariclea Haricli, was born on June 10, 1860 in Brăila (Romania). As her vocal talent was already evident at a young age, Hariclea Haricli was sent to Vienna and Bucharest by her father for training. Under her stage name Hariclea Darclée, she made her debut at the Opéra in Paris on Dec. 14, 1888. Cristina Scuderi will speak on Saturday, June 15 about "Arranging contracts for singers in Puccini's era: Clauses, conditions, benefits (?)".
