The Austrian Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ÖGE 18) sees itself as a discussion and publication platform that brings together researchers, students and those interested in the Austrian history of the long 18th century. It promotes dialogue between academia and society and supports local and international research projects in order to enable cross-border perspectives on the 18th century.

Ingeborg Zechner is the spokesperson for the doctoral programme "Medialities in historical contexts. Cultures of knowledge and the arts in the 17th and 18th centuries", together with Ao. Prof.i.R. Dr.h.c.mult. Dr phil. Harald Heppner, its founder.

The doctoral program "Medialities in Historical Contexts" aims to provide doctoral students with an interdisciplinary exchange forum for professional and individual supervision and support in the preparation of their dissertations.

In addition to providing an insight into current research projects and reflecting on current research topics from the focus of the doctoral program, the DP aims to open up low-threshold networking and exchange opportunities for young researchers. This is intended to promote professional entry into the international scientific community.

Providing information on funding and presentation opportunities relevant to doctoral students is an important task.

Furthermore, the doctoral program offers a range of opportunities to form (formal and informal) working groups, for example to discuss research-relevant questions and topics.
