EXKURSION NEW YORK

Wir reisen zu einer Metropole für Moderne und Zeitgenössische Kunst: New York City.

Wir besuchen die Armory Show, eine der wichtigsten Ausstellungen der Welt. Wir besuchen prominente Gebäude der Stadt u.a. das Chrysler Building, das Empire State Building, das One57 und The Vessel.

Zudem besuchen wir die Highline und das neu eröffnete Museum of Modern Art, darüber hinaus das PS1 das New Museum, das Whitney Museum, das Metropolitan Museum of Art, das Queens Museum und die neue Abteilung für Gegenwartskunst des Metropolitan Museum of Art. Wir besuchen ausgewählte Galerien in Chelsea und an der Lower East Side sowie die Kunstszene in Bushwick und Williamsburg (Brooklyn) und West Harlem.

Ziel ist es, eine der wichtigsten Metropolen für Kunst und Architektur kennenzulernen und einen Einblick in die Sammlungen und neuen kuratorischen Strategien der Museen und Orte künstlerischer Produktion zu bekommen, sowie die Kunstszene und ausgewählte Galerien vor Ort kennenzulernen.

Die Exkursion findet vom 05. Bis 14. März 2020 statt und wird von der Universität ausreichend unterstützt, sodass hierfür im Vergleich zu anderen Exkursionen kein erhöhter finanzieller Aufwand für die TeilnehmerInnen entsteht.
