Martina Bratić: Kaija Saariaho and Olga Neuwirth: Two female paths of (self)actualization
The presentation deals with the concept of female music, focusing on some specific ideas of feminist musicology as a sub-discipline, and on their methodological sustainability and use in practice. With selected case studies of two female composers, Kaija Saariaho and Olga Neuwirth, Martina Bratić will point out the possibilities and potentials, but also the problems of the methodological framework that feminist musicology proposes in its search for gender in music.
