You are the Sound // A Workshop on Listening and Mimesis

21.-24.05.2026: Tenor Vienna 2026, International Conference on Technologies for Music Notation & Representation

This conference in Vienna has a focus on innovative advancements on audio scores: musical notation, representation technologies, methods of composition, interpretation, psychoacoustic questions and aesthetic analysis connected to the concept of mimesis. The conference is part of the research project Sound as Score funded in whole or in part by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and hosted by the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) and the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW), Vienna.

As part of this event, Susanne Kogler, Nicolas Müller-Lorenz, Elisabeth Schimana, and Barbara Neu will hold a workshop on May 23 titled “You are the Sound // A Workshop on Listening and Mimesis.”
