Art studies as an academic subject is a discipline that deals with art from post-antiquity to the present. Thus, the field of activity includes a variety of media and art forms: in addition to the genres of architecture, sculpture and painting or graphics, photography, video art and net art, performances and happenings. The methodological and theoretical approaches are also broad. Art studies asks about the contexts, the use and function of the works, but also about how they were viewed and evaluated and what historical changes their reception may have been subject to.
For written work in courses, the citation guidelines for the Section of Arts Studies must be followed. (only in German)
Within the framework of the EU program for education, training, youth and sport "Erasmus+" students have the opportunity to study between 3 and 12 months at a university in another European country.
Moodle is the central e-learning platform of the University of Graz. As a supplement to face-to-face teaching, online course rooms are made available to teachers and students of all faculties.
