In their research, the members of the Section of Musicology not only cover broad areas of the music of European culture, but also include in their research popular musical forms and, in particular, the sociological and medial conditions of their reception and production. In addition, the projects of the members of the section, which address current topics and network with experts on an international level, strengthen Graz as a location in its local, national and international visibility within the academic world.
